Be Nice

... or at least follow the the "Community Guidelines"

1- Stay on topic

2-Be polite.

It is apparent that webmaster used the NUKE button on a number of topics where rules 1 & 2 had been turned into roadkill.

The removal was so severe and thorough, they do not even show up with the 'Rick on the floor, cannot find that' display.

The RS staff is on reduced hours as the company strives to survive the current situation. Making maintaining this forum "more bother than its worth" would be a sad thing.

So going forward, (unwritten) Rule 11, is have a Snickers bar with you when you get ready to post. Make sure your 'better you' is seen.

Well said Joe 32F and I might add #12. If you can’t do rule #1 and 2, please skip on by the post and don’t respond at all.

Thank you, joe. There was one last night that received a couple of responses where I had to wonder what could possibly be going on in their lives to cause it.

Thanks for the reminder, joe. I must admit (shamefacedly) that I swerved off-topic recently; my only excuse is I was responding to some other off-topic comments. Not good enough; I should have left it alone.

I do wish people would heed the Webmaster's point of assuming that by now we all know there's a pandemic, and that our travel plans will be affected. I get irked when posters respond to a query with "You shouldn't be thinking about/planning/fantasizing about travel because ... "

It's not lost on me, so I hope others also noticed, that this reminder regarding politeness and sticking to the topic is coming from joe32F !

I understand that this week on Sesame Street the virtues of sharing and delayed gratification are being promoted by Cookie Monster.

joe,

Well said, and this is a good reminder that we should strive to keep all replies "on topic" as much as possible. I've strayed a bit on a few occasions when the discussion was especially lively, but always try to remain polite.

Joe,
I think the Webmaster pulled a topic in General Europe! I posted a comment an hour ago and was beginning to feel the topic was veering into dangerous waters! The Pandemic is affecting our brains.
