Any recommendations for a guide book for the Baltic states?
Both Rough Guide and Lonely Planet do a one-volume guide to the Baltic States. I have a slight preference for Rougg Guide both but are very reliable.
No love here for recent Lonely Planet "guide" books (while once great, new editions are now little more than social media fluff, scraped from bloggers and "influencers" and then printed).
Bradt Guides has an excellent book on Estonia.
Eyewitness DK has a pretty decent book on the Baltics overall.
I used the Eyewitness DK book for the Baltics--I had already been to Tallinn so not really needed for that, but it was helpful for Riga and Vilnius. I will admit that I am a person who removes pages from guidebooks--I made neatly stapled packets for each of those cities as bringing the whole sections for each country would have been both unnecessary and weighty.
Thank you for the recommendations!

The Bradt guidebook for Latvia is very good. Rick Steves Scandinavia has a chapter on Tallinn. Lonely Planet has some good info, but I found the DK/Eyewitness book on the three Baltic countries to be the most helpful overall. Online you can find the In Your Pocket guides, free to download.
