Back from Europe!

EUROPE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Rome was our least favorite place we went, the sights were cool. The people and the traffic were awful, the people were so rude!! Plus, there were these street dealers in every tourist trap trying to sell you pure junk for a high price. They would not leave us alone, they actually chased us down the street. Florence was so-so. David was amazing. I took pics (being very sneakey since you are not allowed too, but everyone was). Venice was gorgeous, St. Mark's square, Doge's palace and St. Mark's Basilica were stunning!! GermAny was gorgeous, we rented a car and drove to Triberg, Fussen to see the castles, so cool!! We then drove to Zurich and spent the night there, the lake was the best place to see, that is pretty much it for Zurich! We then drove to Salzburg, awesome city. The Geitreidgasse was packed full of people. The wrought iron signs were so cool. If you go to Triberg, you must visit the Gutach falls, but is costs money to view it, but defintely worth it. If you don't like smoke, do no go to Italy. Practically everyone smoked there. BRING A GPS if you are going to drive!! We didn't have one, so we got lost some many times, but the people in Germany were happy to help us out. WARNING!! Places in Germany charge you to use their bathroom, so bring some change! In Italy, the Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps and the Pantheon are a hangout for the Italian kids, so be prepared for tons and tons of kids to be there. Do not go to cafe's, terrible food for ridiculous prices. Everything in Europe is expensive. We had a great time!! One problem we had though was that we missed our flight from London to Seattle due to a fire in one of the towers at the airport so our plane was an half anf hour late to take off and we had to circle heathrow for an hour till we could land, so we had to spend a extra night in London. The cool thing was though that our hotel provided us a 3 hour tour of London with a professional driver. So..that is pretty much it!

Brendon,

Thanks for posting a "Just Back" report. It sounds like you had a great time.

I'm surprised you didn't like Rome as much as some of the other spots. As far as the traffic and the "rude" people what can I say but, "that's Rome" a lot of the time and that's one of it's "charms".

As far as the smoking, I had a greater problem with that in Austria. Hopefully that will improve before my next visit.

I assume you're now planning your next trip, like the rest of us here.

Cheers!

Glad you had fun. Sorry you didn't like Rome and Florence they are two of my favorites. I can't believe the people were rude in Rome, I had quite the opposite experience. Time to start planning the next trip.
