Can anyone recommend a nice English owned B&B near Heathrow that doesn't cost the earth? I plan on having those rooms reserved before we make our flight back from the UK. In the past we have always flown out of Gatwick and I know where the B&Bs I like to use are in that area but it has been years since we flew out of Heathrow (and only one time at that) and I can't for the life of me remember where we stayed then.

That is a difficult one as there are few and prob. would like multiple night stay. I always stay at a chain hotel that has shuttle service to airport. Try Sheraton Hotels, Ibis Hotel, or Heathrow Lodge in Longford

Try Harmondsworth Hall B & B. We stayed there in 06. A family room for 4 cost us 85 pounds and the taxi ride (have the service desk at the airport call LHR taxi company) cost us 6 pounds. Full English breakfast, real English pub a couple of blocks away (we were the only Americans and obviously a novelty). Had an overnight layover so one night stays are OK.
