Avoiding jet lag/arriving in Frankfurt

I am leaving Monday for Germany for work. I arrive at 10:30 in the morning, which is 2:30 AM my time. I will be staying at a hotel at the airport and have a day and a night to kill beforeI have to be at a meeting at 8 AM the following day. I know I have to keep going all day and would love to know ideas of what to do near the airport in Frankfurt or in the city...

Where is your meeting? In Frankfurt? In any case, stay in the city, not at the airport. It's only a 15-20 minute train ride from the airport to the city, and there are nice hotels that are 5-15 minutes walk or cab ride from the train station. I stayed at the Ibis - a 10 minute walk from the train station. Rooms are small, there is an all-in-one soap (shampoo, conditioner, hand and body wash, and probably laundry detergent - bring your own toiletries). Other than that, there were NO minuses. Clean, comfortable, great and very helpful staff, good location right on the river, free wifi in the lobby, and pretty cheap rates. There is so much to see and do in the Old Town, a 5 minute tram ride from the train station. Old beautiful churches, museums, charming buildings, pedestrian mall with lots of shops, cafes, etc. I'd take a taxi for the short ride (about 5 euros) to the hotel, drop my bags, and head to Old Town for a walk around. Then I'd go back to the hotel, get into the room, have a shower and a nap, then head out again for a bit more sightseeing, an early dinner, then crash for the night. Breakfast at the hotel is a bit pricey, so if you aren't too hungry, walk over to the train station, lots of options including Starbucks.
