My wife and I are thinking of going to Croatia (Zagreb then Dubrovnik) and what is the reasonable average cost for everything (hotel, food, transportation, and other little things) per day...
What about Venice and Rome, Italy. Palermo, Sicily?

Realize that Venice and Rome can easily cost in lodging and sights over $300 per day for 2(budget to mod). Other parts of Italy can be somewhat less but you do not give a route. Nor to you say if you are a budget, moderate or luxury traveler? You may want to talk to the travel consultants at RS for guidance.
I almost always stay in Rick Steves recommended hotels, and they've always been fair-excellent. I'm a single woman and have always felt safe. Go to the budget section of his books for hotel recommendations, no they may not be fancy but what do you want to spend your money on?? Also,hit the web for other sites, read what others say about the hotel. You can definitely pay less than $225 for a room in Venice!
