We had a great turn-out at Saturday afternoon's meeting with 11 people in attendance. It was great to meet Helpline regulars Karen, Anna, Stuart, Rob, and Jim plus significant others! The consensus is that Italy is our favorite place to travel and we were equally divided on "pat-down" vs. scan in the airport security line. We found that we all share a passion for travel with trips in various stages of planning hoping that Anna will schedule her London, Paris, Germany trip very soon! Thanks to Jim and Tina for their report on their trip to Poland. For those who couldn't join us today, we missed you but will look forward to seeing you at our next meeting scheduled for the third Saturday in January. I agree with Karen from Colorado that this is a great way to meet fellow travelers!

Wow! Sounds like a good time! If I'm ever in a situation to attend an out-of-town meeting, I'm just going to show up. You've been warned. I could've gone to a Colorado meeting last year, but I was vacationing with too large of a group to accomodate me - they wouldn't have 'gotten it' anyway...

That's great that you had a good turn out. Eileen played hooky from our meeting today. Now I know why...she is scouting out other groups. Sniff, sniff...she must be tired of us already. Yeah, she SAYS she has a cold, but I don't know if I'm believing her.

It really was great to be with a group of people who are so enthusiastic about travel. It was really funny that the people at the next table ended up being a family group from Italy who are also involved in setting up travel for others, but were also interested in just talking about where they were from. And as always, hearing about other people's travels just gets me interested and excited about planning another trip (NEED to go to Croatia!). Thanks Sharon for setting this up - I look forward to January's meeting and I highly encourage other city groups to form - very fun!

Hi Andrea,
The time frames seems to work well to work for us. We talked about it at our first meeting--for example, one attendee is a student with a tight schedule, others want to watch college football, etc. We try to stay focused with time for trip reports, itinerary planning and general discussions. Then, if some want to stay longer they can and do. It sounds like you have lots of fun in your meetings! If you or Eileen, or any others are ever in Atlanta it would be great if you could drop in on our meeting!
