Atlanta Group January 15 Meeting at 1:00 p.m.

I'm optimistic that the ice will be melted by Saturday afternoon and will be at our new meeting spot at Locos Grill. It's in the same shopping center as Panera - a couple of doors down from Lohman's. Here's the website: http://www.locosgrill.com/
Locos Grill N. Druid Hills 2480 Briarcliff Rd. Atlanta, GA 30329 (404) 329.1999 Bring your travel itineraries, questions, and tips you'd like to share. Cookie and Rene will be giving a report of their trip in May! Looking forward to seeing everyone!

I will be in Orlando playing softball that weekend. I was looking forward to it, hopefully I can attend the next one. If we are going to stay at Panera, I would suggest earlier in the day. Saturday afternoon at that place was kinda crazy!

So sorry about the change Rob! I agree that Panera is very busy - we'll research other locations. Any suggestions?

I can do the 15th. As far as places to meet, I'm not over in the Druid Hills area much, so I'm not much help there. I'll PM Sharon with some ideas.

How many people usually attend? There's a cute coffee shop and in the back they have an area that can fit 6-8 folks off 85 and Shallowford Rd. - called Chocolate Coffee - 2558 Shallowford Rd NE # 201

Hi! Thank you for the suggestion! I can check out Chocolate Coffee but not sure it's large enough. We had 11 people attend last time. I went to Locos Grill today - it's in the same shopping center as Panera (next to Lohman's) and the manager said that they are not so busy on Saturday's at 1:00. He said that we can move the tables together. He seemed very willing to accommodate our needs. The atmosphere is sports bar/pub-y. http://www.locosgrill.com/ N. Druid Hills 2480 Briarcliff Rd. Locos tends to be very good with groups, sounds like it would be a good spot. I am going to try very hard to make this one!

Thanks for organizing us. I'm planning to be there and will be bringing my husband this time - he's looking forward to it!

I'll be there. Not the hubby, he thinks I'm a bit nutty for doing this. That's alright, he's got his own nutty hobbies. :)

Is anyone doing trip reports? We went in Sept (Paris, Switz, Italy) if anyone is interested in hearing about or seeing pix.

No one's volunteered so it would be great if you'd like to report the highlights of your trip! See you on the 15th! Thanks!

You DO realize that you may explode in a ball of flames for spurning 'The Panera", don't you?!? If that's the case, I want you all to know that I'll miss you terribly...and lobby strenuously for a commemorative plaque to be hung in ALL Panera cafes (and the Locos Grill - it's gonna get crispy-fried, too). And don't worry - I'm a stickler for making sure your names are spelled correctly. It's been nice knowing all of you :_ (

Hi! I hope everyone is safe and warm from the winter storm that affected the south. Just wanted to check in to see if the meeting has been rescheduled or still on pending weather/road conditions.

What does everyone think? I'm hoping that the roads will improve tomorrow and be nearly back to normal by Saturday. Should we re-schedule? The next scheduled date is February 19.

Nooooo! I've been stuck in my house since Sunday night! I'm being optimistic that the roads will be much better, after having a fighting chance to thaw Friday and Saturday.

I drove to Locos Grill this afternoon to check out the parking lot for ice and snow. It's mostly clear. Also reminded them that we'll be arriving at 1:00.

Drove by there EARLY this morning. (Don't ask... I screwed up the day for my running group) Roads around there seemed fine. So if you can get out of your home you are good!

A few leftover ice patches didn't keep 13 enthusiastic Atlantans away from our meeting today! We had many lively discussions and lots of fun. Thank you everyone for attending!! Our next meeting will be February 19 at 1:00!
