Andrea's post made me realize that I am not taking advantage of all the great things this city has to offer. With that in mind, I thought I'd try to gauge the interest in doing some sort of DC area RS helpline meet-up. I'd like to suggest coffee or a casual lunch followed by a visit to something in the DC area. For the first meet-up, I'd like to suggest a visit to either the Phillips Collection or the Holocaust Museum. I haven't been to the Phillips Collection in more than 20 years; it is a great small collection. I've never been to the Holocaust Museum; I've been saying that I need to get there since my visit to Auschwitz last year. I work full-time, so I need to schedule this on a weekend. Would you be interested in such a meet-up? If so, please answer 1) Coffee/lunch only, sightseeing only, or both? 2) If you are interested in sightseeing, Phillips Collection or Holocaust Museum (or either)? 3) Saturday or Sunday? 4) Which weekends in July could you meet? If there is interest, I will try to set something up.

It would be great if you meet in September on either the 28th or 29th! ;-) I hope you can get a group together. It really is nice to meet others who share a similar interest. There seems to be quite a few people on the Helpline in the DC area. You might find that there are plenty of lurkers out there that would be interested too. That happened with us in Sacramento.
