Are you in Europe now? Make sure your phone and iPad are charged when you fly home!

In case you haven't been watching the news ( we don't while in Europe), there are enhanced security measures being put in place for flights to the US. Travelers may (will?) be required to power up their electronic devices at the screening. If they are out of juice and can't be turned on, you cannot take them on board, and you may be subjected to additional screening.

Sasha,

Thanks for the "heads up". That story seems to be all over the news today, but as you mentioned those travelling may not be keeping up with current events. The new rules seem to apply mostly to Smartphones, Laptops and Tablets, but I suspect Cameras and other devices will also fall under these rules. I've been asked on past trips to power up my DSLR, and the Lenses have been inspected and swapped for residue. The emphasis seems to be on direct flights to the U.S. and although they don't specifically mention flights within Europe, that may also happen. I always ensure that all my gadgets are fully charged prior to travel anyway.

It would be interesting to setup the clock on your e device as a "count down" timer and see what they think upon power up.

or maybe have some x rated photo/movie on the desktop.

happy trails.

@Ray - LOL!!!!

. . . or maybe have a shampoo distributor's Website dialed up, with an order form filled out for lots of bigger-than-3-oz. bottles. Maybe a Wikipedia look-up on Hepatitus-A?
