Are we paying too much?

My husband and I are taking our first trip to Europe. We want to do this budget but enjoyable. (meaning air conditioning since it is an August trip).

Anyways, we are staying at the following places....

Barcelona... 3 days
we found Hotel Granvia for 63 eur a night. Double room, 3 star hotel, air, etc.

Late night flight to Pisa (ryanair) then find a cheap place that night to stay
Train to Lucca for the ramparts (biking)
Train to Florence...

In Florence (3 nights)
we found an organic olive grove agritourism for 90eur a night (breakfast included)

Night train to Paris
Paris (3 nights)
We are staying in Grand Hotel Leveque for 99 eur a night.

So we are just starting to second guess ourselves in the deals we found. Many of you know much more than we do, any suggestions? or does it look okay.

Thank you
Dayna

While you are waiting for replies, you might check Trip Advisor for any comments about any of the places you have chosen.

The prices you show seem to be in the right realm. Nothing scary anyway.

The prices you list seem to be quite reasonable for the places you're getting - especially for August. I'd start worrying about where to eat!

Thank you everyone.
So the reason the place in Barcelona is so cheap... Its usually 117 Eur/night but I found a special online if you book 3 nights.

as to Pisa, I was hoping to book while in Barcelona. Just in case plans change.

But it would seem most of you think these are reasonble prices? Or should I look for cheaper?

Thank you
Dayna

You might want to start working on finding a place to stay in Pisa before you go. If you are arriving on a late night flight, you might find options limited on arrival. You don't want to be wandering from place to place in the middle of the night looking for someplace to sleep. August is high tourist season, as I am sure you know.

You can use www.laterooms.com to get listings of lots of hotels to compare prices and availability for the dates you need.

Hi Dayna, Do you have your Ryanair tickets already? Usually the ticket prices go up the closer to the date you want to travel. But I also found that when we got closer to the travel date, an additional flight was added...one that had better flight times. (oh well, we arrived anyway!) This info is actually relative to Easyjet but I believe Ryanair is similar.

Dayna,

As you're flying with RyanAir, BE SURE to pack light or you'll be paying excess baggage charges. They are VERY strict with weight limits, so there's no "leeway".

Regarding the night train to Paris, it's a good idea to choose a train that has no changes. If you have to change trains several times during the night, you won't get much sleep.

The price for the Grand Hotel Leveque sounds quite reasonable. I really like the Rue Cler area (was there about a month ago). There are ATM machines almost right across from the front entrance of the Leveque, and lots of restaurants in that area.

Happy travels!

You have probably already left, but....everything you have done sounds great. The prices you have locked in are reasonable and you shouldn't worry anymore. Have a great time!
