April 1-8 free for travel, where to go? - based in Vienna

Hi everyone, I'm currently getting a masters degree here in Europe and this spring am based in Vienna, Austria. We have two weeks of Easter break and I currently have nothing planned for April 1-8. I feel like there are so many options, not sure what to pick!! I'll have visited Munich and Budapest, and have trips planned to Graz, Linz, Ljubljana (with school), and Bratislava, Berlin, and Paris (on my own).

Where would you go in that time frame in this part of Europe? Preferably by bus or train, but not averse to a cheap Ryanair flight if they are available ... been looking at Innsbruck/Salzburg, Prague, Krakow, Dubrovnik/Croatia ... I love to hike and bike, but am also getting my degree in urban studies, so, I love cities! I would love to go somewhere warm, but feels a little early for that, I think - and conversely would love to ski, but feels a little too late in the season for that, maybe?

Welcome your thoughts!

Do one of the oldest cities in Europe. Athens or Rome. Might be too short notice for the cheapest flights but have a look. Only challenge for Rome is Easter is March 31 so might be crowded. Athens Greek Easter isn’t until May but still might be busy with European tourists on the spring break. Enjoy the planning!

Salzburg deserves two nights. You can take a direct train from Vienna’s Westbahnhof station taking 2h 30m. Good day trips include the Bavarian Alps and Halstatt. This is where you should go if you’re leaning towards hiking. Consider renting a car so you have more options.
Prague needs four nights and has direct trains between Vienna’s main central station (Hbf) and Prague’s hl.n. station taking 4h. If you go to Prague, consider also spending two nights in Cesky Krumlov. There’s a direct train between Prague and Cesky Krumlov per day (2h 30m).
Krakow needs four nights if you include a day trip to Auschwitz by direct bus (1h 30m). If you go to Krakow there are direct overnight trains between Vienna’s central station and Krakow (7h 30m). Be sure to reserve a sleeper car.
Dubrovnik does not have a train station and there are no direct buses between Vienna and Dubrovnik. There are nonstop flights but not on Ryanair.
There are also direct overnight trains between Vienna and Venice (Venezia Santa Lucia station [end of line}) taking 11h.

4 days in Prague, 3 in Salzburg. Both excellent cities. Krakow is also a great choice, but it is a really long journey there and back from Vienna or Prague. You can fly, but flying also eats up a lot of time. Enjoy your trip.
