If your apps require a data connection, you can use them on wifi (turn your phone on Airplane Mode, then turn your wifi ON). If any of the apps are standalone apps, you can use them anytime without data or wifi.

Nevertheless, because I haven't heard of those specific apps bar one I will just ask a few questions and let you explore around your settings or whatever the phone you have has. Hear Planet, I don't have any idea what that one might do so no guess Currency, does the app go online to get today's (or this minute's) exchange rates or do you put in a figure and it just calculates based on your input? If anything other than the latter I would expect it would reach out for information at some point. Translate, does it use an online dictionary or one it has stored for offline use? The clue might be in how big the app download was. Web'S, I don't have any idea what that one might do so no guess Wi-Fi Finder, if it has to download a file with current wifi locations based on triangulation or gps (current location) I would worry. Lonely Planet, if it is like the one on my iPhone, is offline. You will need to check each app, as outlined by the prior poster.
