For any of you who have used either or both of the Appenzel day pack and/or the Veloce travel pack, can you please share your experiences using them? How would you compare them? Since the Appenzel doesn't have a sternum strap, does it feel unstable or tend to slip off your shoulders? I know the Veloce is larger, but how much larger, etc.? Any advice you could give would be very appreciated. I am taking a trip to Italy and thinking of using one of these for my only bag.

I've only used the Appenzel day pack. I only "1-shoulder carry" it. It is too small in my opinion to be someone's only bag.
As a day-pack it is fantastic - but just too little as the primary bag, even for the lightest of travelers.

I have used the veloce bag as an option to a day pack on one of my trips. It worked ok for an overnight when I did not want to lug my suitcase. But I would use it as my only bag it is too small.
The travel store section of this site should give you the size and volume of the packs, compare that against a small suitcase or pack. I find I take a 22 inch bag with wheels and it works fine for me.
