Any recommendations on apartments in Prague Old Town? We are going with our 1-year old. Do we have to pay extra for her as the 3rd person?
There is a highly rated place called Arcadia Residence...gets consistenly great reviews on www.tripadvisor.com
Arcadia Residence also rents apartments in the old Town. Be careful about staying right in the middle of the Old Town because of the crowds of people.
Mala Strana is across the River from the old town and a very very desireable location. The Hotel Roma is located there and is quite afforable with good reviews. Also located there is The 3 Storks Hotel where I stayed. It's a very modern hotel located just next door to the Waldenstein Palace and just below the castle with lots of government embassies...so there are many security people always walking around the area.
I am so happy that Prague has become a destination location. I was there in 1981 as a student. Our accommodations looked like a morgue and smelled like formaldehyde too. I'm sure it was a youth hostel but what a horrible one! Green walls, narrow cots lined side by side...When we went out for dinner we had to sneak back because we were out past curfew. The entire town seemed gray and lifeless. I need to return to erase that memory. I have heard that it is a wonderful place. Have a wonderful trip!
