Are meals included in the price of the tickets? I wondered because when I go to their site it lists costs of onboard food. How about drink? TIA
I just recently bought tickets with NW airlines. When looking at tickets it didn't say anything about included meals and had links to the list of things to buy during the flight. On my flight confirmation, though, it says something like Meal: Dinner. Unless your ticket price is a lot lower than competitors a meal is probably incuded, but it might be different for a flight from PA rather than the west coast. This is probably a question that the airline's customer service could answer; just find the link that says something like "contact us" and you can do it through email.
How recently is recently. I flew USError from Denver to Philly to Munich and back in October. As I remember, meals were served on the trans-Atlantic legs, as usual, but not on the domestic legs.
Non-alcoholic drinks on all legs were free; alcohol cost you on all legs.
My daughter flew USAir back from Paris at Christmas and there was a meal (no charge). I'm looking at the flight we have booked to Paris on May 11, USAir and it says "Meal: Dinner" (for the transAtlantic portion). I don't believe they list meals if you have to pay for it (like those packaged sandwich meals you can buy).
We did Denver/Philly/Rome -- Zurich/Philly/Denver last year. It was, by far, our worst experience with any airline in over 20 years of European travel - especially the Rome leg. Service was non-existent, and meal, while free, was marginal at best. On the return leg we carry our own food and rejected their box lunches. For looking around at what others got, it was a wise decision. Our experience with the Philly airport was equally bad to the point that we have vowed never to fly through Philly again or to use US Air. I will glad pay extra to avoid both.
Frank is absolutely correct, especially about the Philadelphia airport. Avoid it at all costs!!
I have been traveling for 50+ years - I can't recall that I have ever had a good experience on Mohawk/USAir/US Airways. Whatever they choose to call it this week, in my experience it is best to choose an alternate carrier.

If the US Airways website doesn't clearly answer your question...just call Customer Care. That way you will get accurate up-to-date info and have no surprises once on board the Aircraft. You could also request a special meal if required or desired.

International flights still typically do a two meal service in economy. The first on a typical departure is a dinner and the second about an hour or so prior to arrival a light breakfast usually with yogurt, fruit and a croissant or other pastry. I highly doubt US Air would be any different.
Thanks all for your responses.
We are flying out of Philly but have done so many times so far without any problems though I have heard so many horror stories from people who use it as a connection.
We normally fly AirFrance so this will be a new experience for us. The redeeming factor is that it's the first time we've had a straight flight.
