Anyone attend the Los Angeles Travel Show?

Hi All,

I had hoped to attend the Los Angeles Travel Show yesterday or today but my DD came into town for a visit. How was it? Worth attending next year?

Thank you and happy Sunday!

We went one year and loved all the different speakers they had, including Rick Steves. Lot's of travel gear companies with good discounts, travel companies with raffles, food samples. They had photo op's with fake camping background and other corny stiff like that. We had fun, but I don't think I would do it again unless a really dynamic speaker was there.

The Denver travel show was this weekend and supposedly Rick was in attendance. We have attended in the past and enjoy some of the promotions and presentations. We couldn't go this year as we were babysitting so our son and dil could hang out in the Caribbean for a long weekend. She had won the trip via a promotion with her company.

I attended the LA show on the 15th. I look forward to it every year and wouldn't miss it. It's like a mini vacation around the world. While some things are similar year to year, there's always something new, or my interests change. I've attended Rick's talks in the past, but not this time around. I did attend Pauline Frommer's talk which is always helpful info. Ironically, when I first arrived at the show, I was looking at RS books, heard a familiar voice, and was startled to see Rick standing next to me. Then I went to the other side of the booth where the Frommer books were as I didn't find the topic area I was looking for amongst the RS books and Pauline was working the booth and gave me advice on the area I was considering ... interesting start to the show.
