Although not accepted everywhere, I easily saved 50 to 60 euros on my last trip of three weeks using one in Italy/France (I'm a grad student). That more than covered the cost.

Yes, I've used it across Europe and in Australia. Well worth the money since you can get discounts of up to 50% or even get into places free.

Yes, but realize student discounts are not always posted. So ask if there is a discount at all museums,
bus transport , train etc. when you are purchasing.
