Abbey Road is so out of the way from the rest of our itinerary so I was wondering if anyone knew anything else worth seeing in that neck of the woods. Also, any good restaurants up that way? Thanks :-)
We just did the Abbey Road thing a couple weeks ago. I don't remember seeing too much around there, it was a residential area. We just took the tube there and back, it didn't take long. We were already on a Beatles walking tour and left it half way through and headed to Abbey Rd. Glad we did, cuz when tour groups are there, it's pretty crowded. You can read about it on my blog. No, not really...... Us folks who need American food items go to Panzers Deli pretty close when we cannot get into Partridges but that is about it.... It is just a zebra crossing like any other..... the studio has just been sold....
Sold to whom? It received historic status from the British Government earlier this year. Anyway you can walk to Paul's house on Cavendish Ave. It's the one with the highest fence and cameras in every window. There's a Beatle coffee shop in front of the St. John's Wood tube station. Nothing fancy there but a good spot to sit down with a cup if you've been walking around all day. Other than that it's really just a residential neighborhood.
If you are so interested in the Beatles that you would go out of your way to see Abbey Road, you might want to look into the Beatles Walk. If it fits into your schedule, take it. It's a lot of fun for Beatles fans.
