Any alum taken recent tours with Sarah Murdoch's Adventures with Sarah...specifically Peru?

My husband and I are thinking about taking one of Sarah Murdoch's tours to Peru. I know she is no longer working with RSE and has started her own company, but as a long time RS guide, she had fabulous reviews. I was wondering how people feel about this new adventure she is undertaking. We would love to go to Peru and Machu Picchu, and while we have taken a number of RS tours, he does not venture out of Europe.

She will not be leading this particular tour though, and has one of her associates doing it....SUSANNA PERRUCCHINI, who seems knowledgable and a long time guide from Italy and Spain, but she is not from Peru. Any info on either Susanna or the tour to help us make a decision?

Imprint Tours, run by a former RS guide, also has a tour to Peru.

I took the Imprint Tour of Peru last year and loved it. However, it is not currently on the schedule for 2026 or 2027. Perhaps it will be added later?

I have never taken a tour with Sarah, but always thought I would like to try one. I have met people on Imprint Tours who loved her.

We are currently on our third Adventures with Sarah tour: Turkey in a Teacup and Turkey Sailing Staycation. Our first two were Estonia and Vietnam, and Susanna was our guide for Vietnam. She was excellent!
We've taken eight RS tours over the years which we have enjoyed but we've come to prefer smaller groups. This one is six people.

The Peru tour I took earlier this year (with OAT) was led by a native of Peru who lives in Cuzco and has been guiding in Peru for decades. In one town near his home, he arranged for us to meet local vendors who he knew. He told us stories of growing up in Peru, how things are changing, how the local "informal" economy is being affected, and what he hopes for his and his children's futures. His historical knowledge reflected his decades of experience in leading hundreds of treks and group tours in Peru and to Machu Picchu.

As part of your diligence, you might wish to inquire whether you will get those in depth cultural and historical insights and knowledge from the guide. Perhaps they will hire local guides during the tour?

Thanks for the replies, the Peru trip looks very appealing to us and I'm glad to hear positive reviews for both Sarah and Susanna.

CWsocial, How did the Oat tour compare to RSE and how many people were in your tour?....we have enjoyed the smaller tours lately.
We took the Cotswolds trip with Seymour tours (both guides were RSE guides, Lorraine and Liz) and the 11 member total with 2 guides was fantastic compared to the last two RS tours we took this summer with 28 members/1 guide each tour.

The 2 OAT tours I have taken compared very favorably with Rick Steves tours. There are differences, two of which are luggage handling and tips.

Group size is a significant difference. Both of my OAT tours have been about 11 people. OAT tours to some countries are larger, but the Peru tour and my other OAT tour were their smaller sized tours, which are limited to 16 but average fewer than that.
