Another article on EES entry.....

This recent article describes some of the recent experiences with EES entry.....

Based on some of the information I've seen recently, it seems that some people have a fairly easy experience, while others have to suffer through long delays. I imagine this will improve eventually.

Did you think the media was going to report that everything was fine and just some crowds here and there? Of course not.

I went through EES last week in Vienna. I was in and out of the immigration hall in less than a minute.

Sometimes I think the goal of these reports is to stand in front of people and go "Boo.'"

Yet equally there are some well documented cases of very long delays. My son got caught up in long delays at Pisa airport last week so clearly there are issues at a number of airports however the crucial factor appears to be the number of arrivals at a given time.

I am with FrankII on this one. Remember the photos of the airports when TSA did their walkout? That was a story. This is anecdotal in severity. Although easy for me to say, I havent had to do it yet. I have flown, but only Schengen to Schengen.

The bigger problem are the delays at security when the four people in front of you have given it no thought and done no prep and end up opening suit cases and undressing and removing jewlery and emptying pockets and ......

While the problems aren’t universal they are happening and have been affecting travel for a not insignificant number of flights/people. People need to made aware that they should allow more time when arriving at an airport. They might not need it, everything might go smoothly but the reverse is also possible and when it does it can be hugely disruptive and potentially expensive.

If the media didn’t report it I am sure members of this forum would be rushing to criticise them. They’re damned if they do, damned if they don’t. Just because people don’t agree with an article doesn’t mean the reporting is scaremongering.

Thanks for posting.

I am not concerned at all. My arr airport is for me the terminus, makes no difference at all that when standing at Border Control with EES, working or not glitches or not, I finish within a minute or two at CDG or end up standing close to or one hour
