Can I get through that part of the Alps in November or would I be asking for trouble? I see that a number of roads in the area close in November. Does anyone know of any lower roads that would allow us to go between these cities without a risk of snow/ice? We thought it could be interesting to drive from Annecy to Torino, spending a little time in that area before moving on to Nice.

Thanks JS, but are you saying that because the roads will be bad and/or closed? Normally, I would rely on the train, but we will need a car to reach a number of the smaller places and locations where we're going.
