And a WONDERFUL time was had by all

We are waiting in the Detroit airport for last leg of our two week trip to London and Paris. It was our first trip over and we tried to do as much as we could

Places we visited:
St. Paul’s Cathedral
London Eye
Tower Bridge
Westminster Abbey
Royal Mews
Churchill War Rooms
Piccadilly Circus
Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour
Changing of the Guards
Buckingham Palace Tour
Afternoon Tea
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Tower of London

We rode the Eurostar train to Paris and visited
Arc de Triomphe
Palace of Versailles
Normandy
Eiffel Tower
Van Gogh exhibit
Notre-Dame (can’t go in due to the fire, but could see the outside)
Disneyland Paris
Louvre Museum
Seine River cruise
Sainte Chappell
Eiffel Tower at night

We logged over 100 miles walking and are exhausted but what wonderful memories we made!

Thanks again to all of you who offered help and advice!

A few weeks ago in another thread someone told me that after you went to Europe once, I would find it contagious. “Not me” I thought. “”This will be a one time deal!”

Funny how words can taste like crepes!

What a wonderful trip! So glad you had a great time!

Just an additional piece of advice - especially if you have to go to work on Monday....try to get out in the sunshine tomorrow AM for a couple of hours to help with jet lag!

Yes, since my “once in a lifetime” trip, I’ve been back 3 more times and am scheming on 4...
I hope you like crepes 😉!

Pan, thanks for that advice. Yes Monday will be back at work so I’ll need all the help I can get to recover. The only bad part of our trip is that we had a 7 hour layover in Detroit so it will be midnight before we arrive home. And with our bodies already 7 hours ahead, gonna be tough tomorrow. I’m going to TRY to go to church but will just need to see how things go!

Oh gosh...I hate those long layovers. Sometimes I have a 9 hour one in SLC and it is just miserable.

I suggest you set an alarm tomorrow AM and even if you don't get to church, go out and walk for an hour in the sun or putter around and pull weeds, lol!!

This looks more like a trip report. Maybe you should put it in "Trip Reports" instead of the Q&A section.

hey hey dmwacu
great report and happy you guys had a fun and adventurous time. funny your thinking "one time deal" and not contagious to go again. HAHA i thought the same thing, moving from hawaii never imagined i would go to europe, friend found a new cruise ship setting sail from rome, carnival splendor, for a transatlantic cruise (17 days) flew to rome for 5 days then we sailed away to fort lauderdale. fabulous and fun times, we still laugh at crazy and some insane things i saw and did. next month will be my 7th trip back to europe (paris-geneva-annecy-paris) for 18 nights. yes i will eat crepes and i'll be on a mission to bakeries and patisseries to decide who makes the best eclairs! 2 years ago it was french onion soup. LOL
when's your next trip planned?

Ah yes, crepes.... With bananas and chocolate; the first thing we ate in Paris!

I give you, oh, a week or so until you start reading up for the next adventure 'cross the pond. :O)

If you didn't make it to church it'll probably be OK since you just visited at least the four you mentioned and probably several more.

Some asked when our next trip might be.......

Well as it turns out, Vienna/Salzburg might be fun!
