Amsterdam to Paris

We’re looking at going to Amsterdam and Paris in May, for a total of 14 days. We’ve been to Paris before so we only plan on being there 4 days. We’re looking at making a stop somewhere between Amsterdam and Paris for 2-3 days.
Ideally some sort of beach where we can just stop and rest, take it easy maybe explore a little bit and enjoy some good food.

Does anyone have any suggestions of somewhere like that? It doesn’t necessarily have to be a beach. It will be two adults and two kids ages 3/5.

Bruges, Belgium is a must see.

Ghent is worth a visit.
Brussels is not as interesting as you might think, but the Grand Plaza is impressive.

This area is not much for beaches.

When we went Amsterdam-Bruges/Ghent-Paris we took a few days and went to the beach; a quick train ride from Amsterdam. Zanvoort — it’s touristy but we had some ocean time which is what we were looking for.

From Bruges, we did a day trip to the Atlantic Wall Museum (lots of concrete steps for a 3-year-old) and stopped off at the beach in de Haan.

Thank you everyone for the replies!
The stop would mostly be for some down time and relaxation. I do like the idea of going to Belgium. We would definitely be using public transportation though.

Stay on the Brussels to Bruges train to any of it's 3 termini, then join the Kustraam (coastal tram, the longest tramway in the world) which links all the beaches right along the coast, and choose one of them to stay at.

This link tells you about the miles of Belgian beaches and the various resorts-https://wonderfulwanderings.com/beaches-in-belgium/,

It is possible from the end of the tram line to catch a free bus to Dunkirk, for the train to Calais, change for Paris. So you don't have to return to Brussels for the Eurostar to Paris if you don't want to.

Flixbus from Amsterdam Sloterdijk Transit Center directly to Bruges. Then you could go from Bruges directly to Paris. Something different from a train.

Safe Travels.
