It would help to know your interests & whether you are thinking of a day trip, or a few days. Antwerp & Haarlem are two pleasant, lovely towns within day trip distance.

Utrecht and Delft.

You can get to Bruges as well; however consider the Windmills and Marken

Linda, have you read the chapter on daytrips in the Amsterdam, Brussels and Bruges RS book? If so, what did you think? If not, it would be a good first step. A number of us here can give our shoot from the hip answer, but until we know what rings your chimes (and its you that's travelling, you know) we can't really help.
