American Airlines pilot strike

I've seen a couple of articles saying that American Airlines pilots will strike.

According to the Independent:

According to the Allied Pilots association, which represents more than
15,000 American Airline pilots, 99 per cent of the vote was in favour
of authorising a strike, with 96 per cent of its membership
participating in the vote.

No date has yet been given for a walkout.

Yikes. I just bought a ticket Friday for a ticket on American in mid-June (only for halfway across the United States, not Trans-atlantic, but still )...

This is far, far, far, far, far, far from a strike.

It is fairly customary for airline work groups to vote for a strike as a part of contract negotiations. It is a step that gets things rolling for a potential strike, but there are many steps along the way to a strike where it can be avoided.

I would be super shocked if there was an actual strike.

Dave, my brother said the same thing (he's a pilot for Delta). The odds of a strike happening are slim to none.
