I wanted to see if you all have some experience flying with AA to europe because on STA, they are the cheapest flights by several hundred dollars.
I've flown American to Europe for several years now. I have found that, in general, they have decent rates and respectable service. Midwest routing can be tricky (just more connections), but from Boston, you should be fine.
I wouldn't be put of by a low price from STA.
Over the years they have an excellent and well deserved reputation for getting low cost travel from reputable airlines.
I flew American Airlines to Europe in September and will again next week. The service was good.
I flew AA last summer from the west coast to Paris and thought it was great. In my experience AA has slightly more leg room than most other carriers.
I've had good experiences with AA, though I think the extra leg room is a thing of the past.
However, I would be wary of any flights that go through Heathrow because AA codeshares with BA, and BA at Heathrow is a mess. With Heathrow & BA you have a 50/50 shot of your luggage arriving with you. Not good odds.

When I flew with American Airlines to London, it was to the Gatwick airport. (non-stop from St. Louis Missouri). Everything was fine, but I waited for a long time to get my passport stamped.
