Hi, I'm from Chile and I'm going to Europe next semester. I'm going to Denmark with the WorkingHoliday visa but expect to travel around the other countries as well. I know the Schengen countries allow me to travel for 90 days. The Uk doesn't request visa if it's less that 6 months....but: How much time am I allow to travel around the other countries with this visa active??

Hi Mararena, the visa condititions for Chileans in the EU could be different from those for US citizens (most people on this helpline). The WorkingHoliday visas I'm familiar with are usually valid for a year for the entire EU, not just for one country. Is yours different? Do you want to travel in the other countries after the year is over or during that time?

I'm planning on travel DURING that time. The WH visa works the same for me...a year and blah blah.
IF I as traveling no visa at all...I would be allow to stay only for 3 months at the Schengen countries. UK is something different and allows 6 months but what about the EU??? Does this WH visa changes things a bit and allow me to spend more time in the Schengen/EU countries???? Maca

I am under the impression that if you are traveling during the time that your work visa covers, you will be fine. (Meaning if your visa covers one year, you can work and travel for one year with no problems.) But please someone correct me if I'm wrong. Most of us on this board haven't dealt with work visas (I've only had a short student one) and are from the US so we haven't had your experience, sorry!
