Allianz yearly travel insurance plan

Hi, We are in our 60’s . We are wondering whether it makes sense to just buy a yearly Allianz travel insurance? In the past, we had to buy each time before travel and we had to make sure we did it in the window so preexisting will be cover. We also had to make sure the travel insurance would be primary in medical benefits. We had used square mouth, Insure my trip befire. We have never used Allianz but heard good feedbacks about it. Thanks.

I will be watching for more responses. Last year, with five international trips, it seemed to make sense for me. And I bought an Allianz yearly policy. I found another couple of options - but some policies don’t cover trips as long as what I sometimes take. I also only have Medicare (and supplement for some international coverage) - but I need to go back and check my credit card insurance. But I haven’t had to use Allianz so can’t speak to how they would do if/when I need it. I also bought a Medjet policy. .

We have been taking two to three trips a year, Covid years excepted. We bought an Allianz annual policy and now just renew it. We also want to be sure we’re covered for anything might happen in between our trips so an annual plan seems best. We’re primarily interested in the coverage to get us home for medical reasons. Thankfully we have not had to use any part of the insurance and we’d like to keep it that way but that means we can’t speak to how it will work. We also read good things about it but that’s the extent of our experience.

I've had an annual Allianz policy for years. I travel a great deal so it paid to get an annual policy.

Luckily, I've never had to make a claim.

I also like it because it starts coverage 150 miles from home. Not just internationally.

I also have Medjet Assist for evacuation. The Allianz plan will get me to the nearest hospital. Medjet will take me to any hospital I want.

Put me on the Allianz bandwagon. Have bought for two years now and renews soon. Costs little more than a single trip plan for us and covers, as I recall, trips up to 90 days. We go for 8-10 weeks so need that latitude. That it covers even impromptu trips domestic and foreign is a plus. Haven't had to make a claim but I have found their customer service helpful with questions I had prior to purchase. We have excellent medical coverage internationally in our supplemental plans, but Allianz will be key in disastrous circumstances.

I use the trip insurance that comes with my premium credit card, but if I didn't, I would look at the annual policy. I also have Medjet. I feel better knowing that "in case of emergency" someone has my back and will get me home. It can be pretty interesting to look at some of video testimonials on the Medjet website.

My feeling about evacuation insurance is "I hope this is best money I ever waste." Nothing will please me more than never using it, but it is good to know it is there if I need it.

I would love to hear if any one has actually collected on an Allianz policy. I just bought and ex-pat policy from them as part of the requirements for a residency visa. I got a plan with a pretty high deductible, because like Frank II I have MedJet and then Medicare when I get back to the states.

I bought an annual Allianz All-Trips Premier policy last year to cover September's trip and this June's. I chose it because of the stated Covid coverage and forum recommendations. I also bought an annual Medjet evacuation policy since it will get me home instead of "to the nearest facility". Fortunately I did not need to use either. But do keep in mind on the annual policies, that some items are "per trip" and others are "life of policy". Read the policy carefully.

We have used Allianz for many years. We once had to submit a claim. Our flight was cancelled and we rented a car to fly to another airport. After submitting the necessary documentation, they promptly reimbursed us for the full one way rental charge. I was pleased with the entire process.

@traveling Mom. I just did a dummy purchase listing WA as state of residence. There were no problems or limitations except for car element.

I am in my second year with an Allianz yearly policy.. At my age (71), it costs much less than individual policies for each trip. I had two small claims (less than $350 each for trip interruption and trip delay) and they paid without any problem.

Hi, thanks for all your replies. Just browsing through Allianz annual plan. There are a few options : All trips basic, prime and premier. I will just need to verify if is insurance coverage per trip or if they only allow certain $ payable in a one year.
