airport to city shuttles

Over the years we have used Viator to book travel excursion in Europe. HOHO, bike trips, walking tours, skip the line queues, etc.
Always very pleased. I like to have things lined up and planned ahead.

Your thoughts on bus shuttles from Munich airport to Munich central train station and from Florence Santa Maria Novella train to Florence airport. Not knowing how big or complicated these places are would simply purchasing Viator shuttle passes ahead of time make most sense. Probably an extra $5-10 total for my wife and I -- but, I don't want to be wondering everywhere with luggage and ticket machine confusion. Or can I pay the driver when getting on shuttle? Thanks.

Why bother with a third party when public transport seems so straightforward? Third parties are fine, but only if they provide some tangible value. All you have to do is Google the airport and look at each airport's public transport section for options and directions, as well as location maps. Here is Munich's:

"The S1 and S8 S-Bahn lines connect the airport with the center of Munich, with departures every 10 minutes. The airport is also easy and convenient to reach by bus from the Munich city center as well as Ingolstadt and Landshut."

In Munich, the Lufthansa bus (scheduled public bus, not a "shuttle" as such) is comparable in price and time to local rail and more comfortable, especially if you are staying somewhere near the Hauptbahnhof where it ends.
