With oil less than $50 a barrel are airline tickets to Europe getting cheaper?
Not any time soon. According to what I read most of the airlines thought they were being "smart" and locked in their fuel prices months ago. So they have to pay the high price.
I am seeing fares from DEN to Brussels for $976 for Aug travel - which I think is pretty good. Maybe some prices are falling but may not be across the board.
Many airlines booked their jet fuel a year or two ago at much higher prices than oil presently.
When fuel prices are reduced, look for their bottom lines to improve even more. I don't look for bargain basement fares. especially with 4 airline alliances controlling the supply of seats going to Europe. And look for full airplanes.
