Yesterday I read an article in the SF Chronicle about airfares being drastically lower during the winter months. Sure enough, I jumped over to Kayak and scored a round trip ticket in March on Air France from San Francisco to Paris for $368. If you don't mind layering your clothes and fortifying yourself with adult beverages, this is a great deal. Other airlines seem to have slashed their fares for the winter months as well.
Thanks for the tip wbfey1. That sounds like a great fare, attitude and trip! Can’t take advantage of it this year as we have a new trip planned for us this winter, January-February. Thanks so much for alerting people to these special, but perhaps brief sales.
It's definitely worth going to Europe in the winter with lower airfares. In addition, hotel rates will be a great bargain too during that time.
I've done winter travel, and it works out well if you're prepared for the weather, but I have missed the gardens and lush foliage. Safe travels!
It almost makes one think the legacy carriers are putting nails into the coffins of the undercapitalized budget European airlines now flying into the U.S.
And to think I was proud of my $437 roundtrip to Berlin in April.
I just picked up a multi city EWR to LHR then AMS to IAD on United in Premium Plus for the EWR segment for $717 in August. I was also seeing United EWR to LHR round trip for $480

Are there more than just Norwegian?
Are you able to pick your seats? If not, you may get stuck in a middle seat or by the toilets? What about checked luggage and carryons?
On my fare, I picked seats both ways in a two passenger section ($32 extra each way) and the fare doesn't include checked luggage, but since I carry on and the weight limit was 12 kilos each, it wasn't a factor.

Those kinds of things are irrelevant to me (as is whether or not a meal is included). I just assume the flight will be pretty uncomfortable, and if it's not, that's a bonus. I just want to get there and enjoy my vacation.
