AirBnB oversight?

Does AirBnB make any promises or guarantees for its renters? I've read their pages and they make many suggestions but I'm wondering if they will/do actually help resolve any problems renters might have. Thanks for any info. I hope I can see any answers since I can't find anything on the new Website! Where do I go to see what was the France Helpline?

I haven't had an issue with any rentals, but my understanding is they hold payment to the renter (even tho you paid for it when you booked) for either 24-48 hours after you leave. If there are issues, you contact airbnb (or use the resolution center tool)...if you are on the site, go to the help center, look at FAQ's...there is info there on refunds, alterations and cancellations and more. They show an example of someone asking for a partial refund since wifi didn't work. (I'm assuming by renter, you mean the person travelling and renting the space, as opposed to the person who is doing the renting of the room). It looks like you try to work it out with the other person, and if that doesn't work, airbnb will step in...hopefully it doesn't get that far.

I think they are pretty good about helping...and if someone had issues while they were staying that weren't resolved, I imagine they'd mention it in their reviews. I'd love to hear if anyone had problems and how they worked them out...

I do know that AirBnB will be sending an extensive customer survey to the renter immediately upon their leaving.
The renters are also rated by the hosts, and the info would be provided to any future properties.
I can appreciate AirBnB being careful.
When renting through them again, I would be looking for properties that have had a number of customer ratings/comments to base a decision from.
