Unfortunately, Chani, it's been all over the news here that when the taxes were removed, airlines didn't pass the savings along to consumers. They just jacked up their prices and pocketed the difference. For people who already hold tickets, a refund will be welcome, but it isn't improving the prices going forward.

Yeah, I guess it was simplistic of me to think the passengers would benefit, when the airlines are involved.

The IRS has stated that they are working on a meechanism. Eventually once they have worked this out, you will have to apply for the refund
