AIG is selling its "TravelGuard" company/division to Zurich

If you have loved TravelGuard as much as we have, join us in hoping the company will not change much when it is sold to Zurich.

It is my guess that line of coverage has been a bit challenging in the last several years.

Travel Guard is not my favorite, so hoping there will be an improvement.

I won’t give Travel Guard a second chance regardless of who owns them. Thankfully I have other choices for travel insurance.

I too have had bad experience with Travel Guard, so no skin off my nose. I hope the new ownership does lead to changes, though I don't plan on using the company again. And I hope Zurich knows about this class action settlement it's buying into. Actually, I'm sure they do and the price reflects it.

Dick, yes, one of the links within the article goes into the overview of the class action......buyers like Zurich would be well aware. I was shocked to learn there were apparently some non-disclosed fees re: their travel assistance. Years ago (two key words), Travel Guard helped us out of a sticky situation and rebooked flights instantly, along with reimbursing other ancillary expenses, without any fees whatsoever. But, I can imagine the frustration insureds would have if they were not told such fees would apply on the front end (just like people are experiencing when they arrive at some resorts and learn of all the add-on costs, even when they are not using such services for which the add-ons would apply..

Luckily, we have only had two claims in all the decades of travel (and those were years ago).
