Is there an age limit on car rental in Europe? My husband is 77 and I am 72. I remember seeing 75 on a rental agreement in Ireland a few years ago. We would be driving in Great Britain and Ireland.
Additional replies are running in the England forum.
What Michael said. Some companies, not necessarily all, charge extra for over 75. It's best to price different companies and make sure they understand one driver (maybe the only driver) is over 75 so there aren't any surprises at the rental counter.
Hertz in the UK has no upper age limit.
We always rent through Kemwel or AutoEurope. They ask if you are over 75. Presumably, they show you only the companies that will rent to you. I rented last year and will be doing so in a few weeks, at age 77. No problem, and not especially expensive.
