affordable accomodations in the Netherlands and Belgium

My daughter and I will be in Amsterdam in early March of 2008 and will be traveling around the area, which will include Belgium and Luxembourg. I've been poking around in the various guidebooks and am having difficulty in finding sleeping accomodations for around 50 euro or less. I'm not interested in a hostel because I am 55 and need a decent night's sleep. I plan on staying in Haarlem to begin with but am open to suggestions on places to stay in Bruges and Luxembourg City.

Bauhaus recently renovated Budget Hotel (1*) offers convenient private rooms (+ bathroom with shower) at unbeatable prices in the Old City Center of medieval Bruges! (www.bauhaus.be/hotel.html) (doubles from 20 euros) In Belgium: TaxiStop (www.taxistop.be/4/4benb.htm) lists B and Bs across the country, including more than two dozen in the center of Brussels that average 57 euros ($74), and about 10 in the heart of Bruges. There are also specialist Web sites for Bruges (www.brugge.be), Ghent (www.bedandbreakfast-gent.be) and Antwerp (www.bedandbreakfast-antwerp.com/public/en/index.html).

My experience is that 50 EUR or less is going to be a hard find.

Do you mean 50 EUR per person or per room ?

Will you each require a seperate room or will you be sharing ?

Hotel Carillon in Haarlem is currently running a sale of 50 EUR for a room for one person. That's a nice little hotel BTW.

That's the lowest I know of and that's because they are having a discount period. Most cost at least 60 EUR and normally that's with a shared bathroom.
