Aer Lingus: Do I clear immigration in DUB or LHR?

I'm thinking of taking Aer Lingus from ORD to LHR, changing planes in DUB. I think I clear immigration in DUB, since the DUB-LHR flight will arrive as a domestic flight in the common travel area, correct?

Then, on the return from MAN-ORD, I change planes in DUB again and can clear US Customs and Immigration in DUB and then arrive back to ORD as a domestic flight, walk right off the plane, grab my luggage and then hop on the blue line home, correct?

Thanks for you help! As an added bonus, how's the beer at DUB? Assuming things go smoothly, I should have time for a pint or two.

This is in December of 2017, so Brexit won't be a factor.

1) Correct
2) Guinness
3) The UK wants to keep the common travel area even after Brexit
