My husband and I will be traveling in the Dordogne region in September. Is is possible to make advanced reservations for the Grotte de Font de Gaume and Lascaux II?

Early to mid-September, it looks like Lascaux II only sells tickets at their office in Montignac (reservations by phone are only offered in July and August), but you can get them a few days ahead if you're in the region. See http://www.semitour.com/faq in French or call 05-53-51-96-23 for a tour schedule. In the second half of September, tickets are only sold at the site entrance.
Last year, it was possible to reserve in French by email for Font de Gaume, but that does not seem to be the policy this year, and certainly not what's stated on the English part of their site: http://www.eyzies.monuments-nationaux.fr/.
