Adult Diapers in Europe

Where can Depends, adult diapers, be purchased in Copenhagen? My client has recently had surgery and although release by his doctor to travel, he is still needing to wear protection. Thank you.

Hi Sally, I do not have any personal experience with this... yet,..LOL. but, I want everyone to feel free to enjoy travel,, so I went on another forum I know and asked.

The word for drug store in Denmark is "Apotek", and many sell these products.. also, there is a popular chain of drugstores called "Mata" that sell such items. A popular brand name is called Tena.

Good luck.

I agree with Pat. "Tena" is widely available in Europe. You client should check for the ones that say "for men" among the many that are for women. [and I think they actually use the English wording "for men" on the packaging]

Moli Care is a brand made in Germany and highly used in Europe. They are high quality products. Also many Europeans use pads instead of diaper products as they are much easier to use and change. I am in the adult care business and would imagine he would have no problem finding products in Copenhagen.

According to Tena's Danish homepage, these are available at "Matas" stores and at pharmacies ("Apotek" in Danish). Pharmacies close at 5.30 pm on weekdays and at 1 pm or 2 pm on Saturdays, Sundays closed. Matas stores have similar opening hours although sometimes longer opening hours, if located in a shopping center.

Linda, my start would be the Pharmcies that are EVERYWHERE in Paris, marked with a large green lit cross,, so you can easily spot them. My experience with them is most of the druggists speak some english, and are most helpful.
Have a great trip.

I want to thank everyone for your replies about the adult diapers! I've learned alot lately.

The product most available in Denmark, and probably most of Europe, is Tena. They make pads as well as the diapers. The diapers come in two "strengths", with 2 being the most absorbant. They also come in two sizes and seem to run a bit smaller than the Depends that we have been buying in the states.

The place in Denmark to buy them is the Matas stores that are all over the city of Copenhagen. Knowing this will allow us to travel with our usual luggage amount, purchase on arrival and not have to pay the airlines fees for the second bag full of diapers!

Oh, yea, just saw my question again that started it all....yep, the client is my husband. He had prostate surgery last Halloween! What started out as a simple overnight or two turned into a month int the hospital and a catheter for 6 1/2 weeks! OK, all you men are now challenged to get your prostate checked NOW!

Thanks to all and I hope this helps others!
