Accommodations at London Heathrow Airport

I just looked up the YOTEL at the London Heathrow Airport. Very interesting. I believe it is right at the airport. For 16 hours of staying there - basically overnight - It would cost 56 GBP. Rather costly. They also have rooms by the hour. I looked up the IBIS Hotel close to the airport and their rate was 45GBP. I "think" it would even out to stay in the YOTEL as you don't have to pay to get to the other accommodations away from the airport. What a great concept. I am having trouble finding the National Bus schedule to take us to Bath around 6 pm in the evening from Heathrow.

I've never stayed at the YOtel but noticed it a few months ago. It seems like a unique experience and may stay there my last night in London since I have an early morning flight. It's inside Terminal 4.

Check to see what the cost would be from the Ibis to the airport. Some offer free transport.

I plan to try out the Yotel on my next trip, in October. I wouldn't think you would need it for 16 hours, though, just long enough for a few hours' sleep and a shower. The minimum is four hours.

There is a link to the National bus system on the Heathrow airport website. You want to choose Heathrow CSB (Central Bus Station) as the from station on the National Bus system web site. Currently it looks like there is a bus to Bath at 5:20 P.M. and 7 P.m. on weekdays and and 5:15 and 6:45 on week-end.

I've had great luck using ORBITZ to get a hotel at Heathrow (one that is serviced by an airport shuttle bus, which by the way you must pay for unlike the U.S.) Last time we stayed at the Holiday Day Inn Express for $79 (very nice) and this time at the Sheraton ($111 including tax). On a related note, when surfing the web for good rates be sure to delete your cookies afterwards in order to get the best prices next time you go looking.

We booked a room at the Holiday Inn Ariel through Travelocity and paid around $90. The room was super tiny but it was okay for a few hours.
