Any good suggestions for somewhere reasonable, central?

We were in Italy over the holidays and spent several nights in Rome at a great budget hotel, Hotel Nardizzi, recommended by Rick Steves. It was walking distance to the forum and coleseum and the Piazza Republique.The hotel Manager Mario was so nice and welcoming. We had requested a room with " a view" and we had #202 overlooking the Minister of Defense HQ, it was great. Very clean with a good breakfast. A really good cheap stand up pizza place just down the block. The hotel was very resonable. Of course with the dollar so low, ...
I stayed at the Belle suites recommended by the Rick Steves book. It was excellent and well located

The Beehive is a great little place to stay, check it out: www.the-beehive.com. Also, www.cross-polinate.com is a great site for cute places to stay. There is a wide range of cost and quality on their site you just have to fill in what you're looking for. Hope that helps a little!
