I accidently deleted my photos (1GB Secure Digital). Can any one suggest a way to help me recover them? I haven't used media card since. Help!
Take the card to a camera shop. They can probably recover them. Just don't use the card until you do! My dad did this during our trip to China and was (understandably) sick about it, but he switched to another card and took that one in as soon as we got back. He didn't lose a thing.
Rebecca,
you will something called data recovery software.
Try to google it.
Here are some links to some software which I've never used, but I think you can do it yourelf without any computer skills. Just read very carefully how to do it.

GOOD LUCK!
As long as you didn't format the card your ok they can be recovered.
If you formated your SD card you are out of luck.
Several years ago, I accidentally reformatted a card with some very important photos on it. I took it to a media recovery place in Dallas, and they told me there was nothing on the card. I was sick, but came home & started searching online for a better answer. I found it at http://www.allume.com/win/mediarecover/. I paid for & downloaded the software, the followed the instructions exactly. Pictures suddenly started popping up on that card that was supposedly wiped clean! I recovered every one of those pictures!! I highly recommend MediaRecover software from the above location.
There are two types of formats that can performed on a memory card. A "quick" format which just erases the directory structure, and a "full" format which erases all data from the card. In quick formats the data can be recovered, after a full format all data is lost.
I worked for a camera retailer for many years. Take it to a camera shop and have them recover the images. It's not worth your time to do it yourself and the fee is very minimal.
Thanks to all who have responded. I found a camera shop that could do it inexpensively.
Addendum to Bea:
After I got my recovered photos through the lab, I decided to try your recommendation of http://www.z-a-recovery.com/digital_image_recovery.htm. (I had to use a friend's computer as z-a-recovery.com uses Win NT and above. I still have Win 98.) It did indeed work. Same number of pictures and quality as the lab. Everyone should have this free download.
