Greetings Travellers!!, A quick note about travel insurance. Our trip had to be canceled due to a medical emergency of a travel party member twenty (20) hours before we were scheduled to fly out. All of our up front expenses were covered, flight and rail tickets. However, we were not able to get our hotel reservations canceled quick enough to avoid getting our credit card charged. Look into your hotel policy concerning cancellation and make sure all possible travel charges are covered. Some hotels require a weeks cancellation notice.
We're now in the states morning the loss of our trip, consoling ourselves about missing a family wedding, concerned with the health of our hospitalized travel party member while our credit card is being rang up in Varenna, Italy for a Trip Not Taken.
