A Positive Helpline

By far, the positive responses on this helpline outnumber the negatives. I read a good percentage of the questions and the answers on General Europe, Transportation, and To The West helplines. No matter what the question, and I have seen some dumb ones, most all the answers are very positive and helpful to everyone asking for help.
Three Cheers to all the regulars that answer so many questions and try to help everyone have a good travel experience.

Thanks, Tony, for your kind remarks. Though sometimes people might argue the point, we really do try to help people with their questions, and offer suggestions to help avoid some of the problems that we learned the hard way.

Tony,

Thanks for the comments. One other nice point about the HelpLine is that even when the debate gets to be a bit "intense", people usually maintain a level of politeness and decorum. There was a recent Thread here that demonstrated that well.

Cheers!

I know I can be rather outspoken at times: for Europeans, history and politics are inseparable.
However, I am a guest in your forum, and I try to respect that Americans do not as easily discuss certain issues.
I never mean to be confrontational, but do my best to contribute real advice and helpful information.
If I get too uppity, you can tell me so :-))

One advantage to asking questions here is that you can usually count on a divergence of opinions. I want to hear those. We all have to be acceptable of differing opinions. Thanks. I want to hear them and I can do it without criticism of other ideas.

I do think everyone should be careful to distinguish between fact and opinion. Some have a tendency to think their opinions are fact or that their experiences can be expanded to cover all situations. I think it is terrific when someone says, "IMO or IMHO" or my experience indicate ,,,,,, It gives a basis for evaluating the opinion/experience.
