A place to stay in Amsterdaam

We've had a nice family room at the Hestia, 4 single beds and a table/chairs and minifrig. Located on a quiet street about a block behind the Marriott, so very convenient to the Leidseplein and all the restaurants there.

I'd consider staying on a canalboat except for the chill.

Sorry I can't help with a place. As you hunt, you may be more successful spelling Amsterdam with just one "a" at the end. Its the same in English as in Dutch.

The Hotel Fita.

I second the hotel Fita, good location, friendly place, and fantastic breakfasts. It is mentioned in Rick Steves book on Amsterdam. Tram is one block away.

I stayed at the Hotel Brouwer when I visited Amsterdam this past summer. The location was great and the staff friendly. I loved that it was right on the canal and that I could easily walk from the train station. http://www.hotelbrouwer.nl/

I liked Hotel Brauwer too. I had a triple room, and I believe they have a quad room too.
