What is the best way to travel from Lake Bled to Venice in mid - October. I do like trains, and am open to taking a bus. I would enjoy very much to take a ferry or boat for part of the trip. Thank you!

The fastest and cheapest way is by rail. Looks like a 2 km taxi/bus transfer to cross the border from Slovenia into Italy in Gorizia. If you want to add a ferry crossing, take the train from Bled Jezero to Koper, 5 km taxi/bus to Izola, Prince of Venice fast boat to Venice. In October, this boat runs on Saturday only, leaving 8:00 am.

If you are willing to take the local train from Bled to Ljubljana, which takes an hour, you can take a very nice bus run to the Venice Mestre train station. Here's a link to more information on the bus. Fare looks to be 25E. http://www.drd.si/en/
