Floriade

Just wondering if it is worth staying close to the flower show or commuting from somewhere else close. I have a car, is it easy to park at the show.

I'm not 100% certain, but the city its located in, Venlo, isn't a major tourist destination, so hotels in the immediate area probably a bit scarce. In any event, here's a list: http://tinyurl.com/6n3osj9 I'm planning on commuting by train/shuttle bus in May from Amsterdam. I'm sure there will be ample parking as they will be turning the complex into a corporate park when it's finished: http://www.floriade.com/visit-floriade/location

My wife and I attended Floriade in 2002. The gardens are beautiful - many countries have their own display. It is good for several days sightseeing. We opted to stay outside the location in a great farm country B&B operated by a Mr. and Mrs. Stek. As I recall it was approx. an hour south near Kedichem, NL - a great country drive. Highly recommended. e-mail - fruitbedrijfstek@hotmail.com

^^ They will have some giant parking lots in the area, with shuttles taking people to the entrance of the exhibition park.
