Has anyone traveled to Capri? What should we not miss?
amy, Yes, I've been to Capri. Lots of people like to visit the Blue Grotto, so that's one possibility. You could also travel to Ana Capri (another small town on the island) and do some exploring. It's also fun to browse through the VERY expensive shops, and there are some big names there - Gucci, Prada, Armani, etc. (with big prices to match). When are you planning to be there? You might find it helpful to have a look at a copy of the Italy Guidebook, as there's lots of information there on sightseeing on Capri. Cheers!
We just got back from Capri and it was AMAZING! We stayed in Positano and took a day trip to Capri. The most amazing thing we did was to hire a private boat for a 1/2 day tour around the island. We used CapriTime tours. For 175 euros, we got a private boat and a captain for 4 hours. He took us all around Capri and into all of the grottos: the white grotto, sailor's grotto, the green grotto, and the blue grotto (extra fee to go in that one). It was the highlight of our entire Italian vacation. Also, take the funicular up to the top of Capri and go to all the little shops at the top. Have fun!
