First time visitor to all places but can manage public/train transport with ease. Flights to London and return from Barcelona are booked. Travel between London and Barcelona is not booked including stays. Arriving London on Christmas day early morning and returning from Barcelona Jan 2 early morning. Need suggestions on how to divide time between UK and Spain. Family vacation, 2 teenagers. I am thinking of leaving London on Dec 28. While in London can I squeeze Scotland or Ireland. Day trip or fly to Spain from there? Also can Madrid be included in Spain. Fly to Madrid first from London. Looking forward to suggestions. Thanks.

It’s really pushing it to try to see both London and Barcelona in only seven days - I wouldn’t try to squeeze in any other locations.

your 3nights (25, 26, 27) for London will likely give you only two days to do anything. Christmas Day everything is closed and you will be jet lagged. 26th is a stat holiday and many attractions could be closed, also restaurants etc. Buses, trains, tube will be also be running reduced services. The 28th will be filled with traveling to Barcelona. How can you possibly expect to add a trip to Scotland or Ireland in that time!
I think you should just book yourself on a flight from London to Madrid or Barcelona on Christmas Day and spend your time there.
Can you change flights so you go to Madrid instead of London?

Thanks for the tip about everything being closed on Christmas day in London. Don't want to change the flights as we both have friends in London and planning to meet them for dinner, at their home or at a restaurant.
